An eight-time cancer survivor, Terrie Hall works tirelessly to educate young people about the dangers of tobacco use.  Hall began working with Survivors and Victims of Tobacco Empowerment (SAVE) in 2002 after being diagnosed with throat cancer and having her larynx removed.  Funded by the North Carolina Health and Wellness Trust Fund, SAVE sends Hall across the state to share her survivor story with students in schools and community settings.  In December of 2005, NC Lt. Governor Beverly Perdue presented Hall with the Distinguished Service Award in Preventive Health for her tobacco advocacy efforts.  Hall also sits on the board of directors of the International Association of Laryngectomees (IAL).  Originally from Michigan, Hall has resided in Lexington, North Carolina, for the past decade.  Her hobbies include bowling, cooking, and spending as much time as possible with her 4-year-old grandson and other relatives.
