Wade Hampton is President of NC GASP, Inc. (SAVE's sponsoring organization).  Being a laryngectomy survivor who has educated thousands of young people about the dangers of smoking, he is an ardent supporter for policies to reduce public exposure to secondhand smoke.


Dr. Adam Goldstein, a family medicine physician and professor at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill was instrumental in founding the SAVE organization.  Dr. Goldstein continues to provide the program with advise and guidance.


Katherine Hampton, SAVE's Project Director , engages survivors in educating youth about the dangers of tobacco use and is an advocate for policies to reduce public exposure to secondhand smoke.  Katherine is the wife of Wade Hampton, President of NC GASP, Inc. and is the mother of three children.




  • Training survivors to share their stories effectively in school and community settings
